Fatal accident at Karmøy

A contractor employee of the company Veidekke who was working at Hydro’s technology pilot site at Karmøy, Norway, died in a work accident just after 15:00 Thursday.

The accident occurred during construction work at Hydro Karmøy. The person was confirmed dead shortly after the accident.

“It was with great sorrow that I received news that an employee of a contracting company died while working for Hydro. Our thoughts go out to the relatives and colleagues,” says President & CEO Svein Richard Brandtzæg.

It is too early to say more about the cause of the accident, which will be investigated by the police and work environment authorities.
